Today, I had the distinct honor of paying a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola. Our conversation focused on key areas for the sustainable development of Abeokuta North, particularly human capital development, agriculture, healthcare, and security. His Majesty graciously expressed his support for our administration and his willingness to collaborate on initiatives that will positively impact our people.

One of the major highlights I shared was the overwhelming response to our agricultural empowerment program. While we initially expected around 200 applicants for the two-acre farmland scheme, we’ve already recorded close to 2,000 registrations. I also revealed that several investors are prepared to support this initiative with seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs, ensuring that our farmers can be more productive and successful.

Also, we discussed the current state of healthcare and security in the local government. I commended His Majesty for his ongoing engagement with heads of security agencies and his efforts to address drug abuse and youth-related issues through monthly meetings with stakeholders like the NDLEA, NPF, NSCDC, and Human Rights groups. Together, we remain committed to building a safer, healthier, and more prosperous Abeokuta North.
