…Urges Officers to Uphold Ethical Standards.
As part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and community engagement, CP Ajao on Saturday, 10th May 2025, visited five Police Divisional Headquarters within the FCT; Garki, Apo, Asokoro, Jabi, and Wuse. The visits provided an opportunity to assess policing operations, interact with officers, and engage members of the public on prevailing security concerns.
During the tour, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a professional, accountable, and community-oriented Police force across the FCT.
Speaking at each divisional headquarters, CP Ajao emphasized that professionalism and respect for human rights are non-negotiable tenets of policing. He urged officers to carry out their duties with discipline, fairness, and a firm commitment to the rule of law, noting that public trust is earned through consistent and ethical conduct.
At each division, CP Ajao charged Police officers to be professional, approachable, and responsive in their engagements. He warned against unprofessional practices such as extortion, improper use of social media, incivility, and poor dressing, stressing that such behaviors erode public confidence and tarnish the image of the Force.
The CP also stated his intention to engage officers on a more personal level, particularly those deployed in field operations who are most assertive in their interactions with members of the public. He announced plans to conduct one-on-one lectures with field personnel, emphasizing practical guidance and accountability.
The Commissioner of Police reassures residents of the FCT of his unwavering resolve to strengthen Police-community relations and promote proactive, people-centered policing that respects the rights and dignity of all.
