One of the Saudi clubs is reportedly prepared to spend £72m to secure Diaz this summer.
Arne Slot’s grand plan for Liverpool’s 2025/26 squad is starting to take shape after the signings of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, but there are still likely a few more incomings and outgoings before the end of the transfer window.
So far, Liverpool’s stance on Luis Diaz has been clear, albeit frustrating to Diaz. In short, they’re not looking to offer him a new, improved deal, and also not super eager to sell him on in the short term.
The player has been open about his desire to play for Barcelona, but the Catalan Giants are unlikely to splash the cash for Diaz this summer. However, there are reports that a club in Saudi Arabia (it doesn’t matter which one) are willing to offer €85million (£72m) for the Colombian winger.
That might be the kind of offer that would entice The Reds, especially if they are looking to break their newly minted British transfer record for another attacker (cough Isak cough).
Then again, Liverpool are already very busy this summer without having to find a replacement for a player that has proven himself as an attacker in Slot’s system, both on the left and through the middle. But of course if the right price comes in, and the player is open to a move to Saudi Arabia, it could be an option.
