The Hon. President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, Ph.D, OFR, has announced the appointment of four distinguished jurists to serve as Vacation Judges during the Court’s 2025 Annual Vacation.
According to an official notice, the vacation period will run from Monday, 28th July 2025 to Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, with designated judges sitting in Abuja and Lagos Judicial Divisions to handle urgent matters only.
For the first segment of the vacation—from Monday, 28th July to Monday, 25th August 2025—Hon. Justice M. A. Namtari will preside in Abuja, while Hon. Justice Hassan Yakubu will sit in Lagos.
The second phase, covering Tuesday, 26th August to Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, will see Hon. Justice Emmanuel Subilim and Hon. Justice A. J. Damachi-Onugba preside in Abuja and Lagos, respectively.
The appointments are in line with the provisions of the Court Rules and administrative guidelines ensuring continued access to justice during the vacation period.
It will be recalled that Justice Kanyip had earlier emphasized that no regular court sittings would take place during the vacation period except for urgent applications.
