A lawyer was allegedly assaulted by court staff at the Upper Area Court 1 in New Karu, Nasarawa State, over the alleged refusal to produce a defendant in court.
The incident reportedly occurred under the supervision of Magistrate Evelyn Otusha Inarigu.
Eyewitnesses claimed the lawyer sustained injuries and was allegedly taken to the New Karu Police Area Command for medical attention. Colleagues of the victim have made urgent calls for intervention, fearing he may lose excessive blood.
Attempts by TheNigeriaLawyer to speak with the lawyer and confirm his name were unsuccessful, as he reportedly could not use his phone during the alleged ordeal. Police reportedly instructed him not to make or answer calls while at the station at the time the news report was filed.

Authorities at the police area command are allegedly handling the situation as investigations continue.
