Media personality, Chioma Ahaghotu, has said that a poor Nigerian woman living in Nigeria has no business marrying a poor man.   Ahaghotu, who stated this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, described the poor man + poor woman union as a ‘tragedy written in sweating and unpaid bills’  According to her, children bear the brunt of such unions due to lack of access to essential resources and parental care while the women not only hustle to provide for the family but also play wife, mother, cleaner, chef, and therapist.  “If youre a poor Nigerian woman living in Nigeria, honestly, youre better off staying single than marrying a poor man , because you will suffer. Once you add children, the struggle multiplies. The woman will hustle outside to contribute, then still come home to play wife, mother, cleaner, chef, and therapist, all on empty stomach and low battery.
