Dominik Szoboszlai has been one of Liverpool’s shining lights this season (and in some cases, Liverpool’s only shining light), and no matter how the rest of the team has performed it seems as though he can always be counted on to put in an energetic and effective shift.
Now, the Hungary national team captain has earned the honor of both the October Goal of the Month and Player of the Month in the club’s internal awards, a somewhat dubious honor in a one of the worst months in memory o on the pitch for the Reds but one he certainly deserves.
It has to be reiterated that Szoboszlai himself has had very little to do with Liverpool’s recent poor form, as the midfielder has put in strong performances each and every week.
He scored his Goal of the Month goal in Liverpool’s 5-1 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, a second long-range effort from him that has earned plaudits. He beat out Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitiké, Cody Gakpo, and Cornelia Kapocs.
