Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris has on Tuesday confirmed the release of the 24 abducted School girls at Maga town in Danko/Wasagu LGA of the State, nine days ago.
Governor Idris, flanked by the Director of DSS Kebbi State, thanked President Ahmed Tinubu for the support and marching order given to the Minister of State Defense, Chief of Army Staff, who immediately relocated to the State to effect the release of the adopted students.
“We are very happy today that our prayers has been answered, trauma we all went through, both government parents and other relatives because of this incident cannot be overemphasized.”
“Today we are most grateful to Almighty Allah.” The governor said.
He said further that the girls are on their way to Birnin-Kebbi, the State capital Wednesday morning from where they would be reunited with their parents.
Governor Idris paid glowing tribute to the security agencies for their proactiveness in ensuring the safe release of the children unhurt, adding that no Kobo was paid as ransom.
