The Cincinnati Bengals welcomed back quarterback Joe Burrow on Thursday night. He missed the last nine games with a turf toe injury, which is a sprain of a ligament or ligaments in the toe that often occurs when cleats get stuck in artificial turf. It can be incredibly painful.
The Bengals entered the game at 3-8 and far behind the field in the AFC playoff picture, but Burrow wasn’t going to sit down just because the Bengals aren’t likely to make a Super Bowl run.
“I’m not ever going to go to somebody and say, ‘Yeah, I’m healthy, but I don’t think I should go out there and play,’” Burrow said Tuesday. “That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I’m not going to live my life and play this game scared of something happening.”
Burrow completed his first four passes of the night. We will update his progress through the night.
