Zamfara State is blazing the trail in the areas of digitization and digital economy under Governor Dauda Lawal with the establishment of the State Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA).
The Executive Secretary of ZITDA, Habib Gajam, disclosed this while celebrating two years achievements of Governor Dauda Lawal in digital transformation.
He said Governor Lawal has empowered Zamfara citizens through information technology.
He said the impactful leadership of Governor Lawal in driving the state to digital world is recording a period defined by innovation, strategic partnerships, and rapid digital transformation across Zamfara State.
Mr Gajam said Governor Lawal’s efforts have driven reforms that position Zamfara as a leading force in Nigeria’s digital economy, in line with the rescue mission.

The ZITDA chief further highlighted the technological achievements of the administration.
“Within just two years, ZITDA recorded historic milestones. Most notably, the Zamfara State House of Assembly passed the bill establishing the Zamfara Institute of Information Technology (ZIIT), creating a dedicated institution for ICT education, research, and innovation in the state. Gajam added,
He said Zamfara also became the first state in Nigeria to adopt a Digital Literacy Framework (ZDLF), designed to equip citizens with essential digital skills for inclusive economic growth, effective e-governance, and technological innovation, with ZITDA providing technical leadership for implementation.
On the global scene, the Zamfara State Government had signed a strategic partnership with Oracle in London on April 29, 2025, under Oracle University’s Skills Development Initiative (SDI).
The agreement focuses on youth development, workforce capacity building, and expanding Zamfara’s participation in the global digital economy, he said.
