Former Ekiti State lawmaker, Sen. Babafemi Ojudu, has faulted the inclusion of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, in the delegates who accompanied President Bola Tinubu to his two-day state visit to the United Kingdom.
NPO Reported that Tinubu had on Tuesday departed Abuja for the UK where he was billed to meet King Charles III while also meeting Prime Minister Keir Starmer and overseeing the signing of bilateral agreements between Nigeria and the UK.
Ahead of his arrival, several Nigerian dignitaries, including state governors, lawmakers, and members of the President’s cabinet had landed at the European nation.
The multiple bombing incident which claimed over 20 lives in Maiduguri on Monday evening had however sparked mixed reactions from the public following Tinubu’s departure hours after the incident.
While the President had ordered immediate deployment of all the security chiefs to Maiduguri, the presence of Ribadu in the UK did however not go down well with Ojudu in a post on his Instagram handle on Thursday held that he is meant to be in Maiduguri.
“Nuhu Ribadu, you are the National Security Adviser—your place is here at home. Nigeria, and particularly Maiduguri, is where you are most urgently needed, not Windsor.” He wrote.

The ex-lawmaker labelled Ribadu’s presence at Windsor Castle as troubling, stressing that the bombings in the Borno state’s capital demanded his full attention and presence.
“Seeing you smiling and appearing celebratory while a man mourns the loss of all four of his children to terrorist bombings in Maiduguri is deeply troubling.

“This moment calls for your full attention, presence, and compassion.” Ojudu added.
