New, disturbing details have emerged surrounding the sexual assault case of a Florida nurse who preyed on her 15-year-old stepson.  It was also revealed Wednesday that the nurse, Alexis Von Yates, 35, has separated from her husband following the incident. Von Yates, a since-fired nurse, quickly accepted a plea deal in early September, avoiding a sexual battery charge. Instead, she accepted a lesser charge of lewd and lascivious battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 16, which carried a two-year prison sentence. According to a prison remand report obtained by The Daily Mail, Von Yates and her husband, Frank Yates, separated sometime after the July 2024 assault.Police reports revealed Von Yates’ shocking justification for targeting her stepson, who reportedly told police he was a virgin. The nurse insisted she pursued the teen because he reminded her of his father, even detailing how the teens genitals resembled her husbands. In the week leading up to the assault, Von Yates had allegedly joked about watching step-mom pornos and discussed her heightened sexual appetite. The teen testified that Von Yates cornered him and began kissing his neck and sexually assaulting him while her two young children were asleep in another room. Frank Yates caught the pair in the act, with his terrified son fleeing into the bathroom. While the husband was grilling the teen, Von Yates allegedly tried to claim she had told the boy to stop. However, the teen refuted her claim. According to the original arrest affidavit, the boy was fearful his father would punish him with a belt. Yates then took the teenager to his grandparents’ house for shelter, reportedly lamenting that his son had “ruined his life.” The grandparents also allegedly discouraged the boy from reporting the assault to his biological mother. It was not until three months later, in October 2024, that Yates sent an anonymous tip to police reporting the assault. During the subsequent sentencing, the victims biological mother addressed Von Yates, reflecting on almost a year spent helping her son cope with the “trauma inflicted upon him.” She noted that the victim’s father, Frank Yates, had only spoken with the boy once since reporting the incident. I am angry, I am hurt, at times it makes me physically ill. But I, like [my son], will rise above, the mother said. Despite all the trauma inflicted upon him, he still has a beautiful life to look forward to. A life full of love, hope, and endless possibilities.Von Yates was married to Frank Yates in 2017, and they share two young children.
