Google’s email service, Gmail, appears to have crashed this afternoon.
According to Down Detector, the problems which started at around 1:08 pm is affecting users globally.
Checks by our correspondent, however, shows that Nigerians can still access the Gmail service.
Although the reason for the outage remains unclear, more than 7,400 issues have been logged on Down Detector.
Users across the UK and the rest of the world have reported issues with Gmail, with most coming from London.
Many appeared to be getting a 502 error when trying to access their emails.
The error message read, “The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.”
While that issue appears to affect UK users predominantly, others reported problems getting into Gmail from other countries including Spain and Kenya.
Gmail has some 1.5 billion users worldwide.
