Four months after a Lagos State resident got debited N20,000 for an MTN data subscription, she neither received the data nor a refund.

The customer, who does not wish to be named, told FIJ that she subscribed for an unlimited data bundle via the MyMTN NG app on March 29 and made a transfer from her PocketApp.

She said the data was for her wireless router, and that even though the money was debited from her account, MTN failed to complete the subscription process.

“On the MTN app, I was given an account number to make payment to for the purchase of a Silver Unlimited bundle,” she said.

“I got debited immediately, but the transaction was not completed by MTN. I have been in contact with MTN, but they keep saying they would work on it.

“I even contacted PocketApp, the platform through which I made the transfer.”

When she reached out to Pocket App, the platform said the transaction was successful from their end.

“Whenever I call MTN, they say they are working on it. That has been the case since March. Even if I can’t get my data, my money should be reversed.”

When FIJ spoke with an MTN customer care representative on Wednesday afternoon, he said he had just lodged a complaint about the subscription issue with the support team.

“She (the customer) will get a response within 24 hours,” the representative said.
