Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has approved the appointment of new permanent secretaries across the state civil service, with some of the appointees being indigenes of other states.
In a statement by his press secretary, Christian Aburime, the governor said the appointments were made based on merit, competence and track record to ensure optimal governance delivery to Ndi Anambra.
A thorough selection process involving computer-based examinations, evidence of excellence in respective ministries as well as one-on-one interviews with the governor were employed.
Notable among the appointees are Joachin Achor from Abia State and Adebayo Ojeyinka from Osun State who made the list of the newly appointed 18 permanent secretaries.
The governor stated that the process was designed to uphold principles of fairness, equal opportunity and identify the most qualified for the positions.
The appointments are part of efforts by Governor Soludo to reform the civil service and ensure transparency in the administration of the state through merit-driven recruitment devoid of extraneous considerations.
