Newcastle have reportedly put a £150m pricetag on the Swedish striker, but Liverpool are apparently keeping tabs on the situation.

Earlier this week, Liverpool secured their third big signing of the summer, Milos Kerkez, who followed Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong in through the doors.

However, all indications point to Liverpool being far from finished in the transfer market, both with incomings and outgoings. Liverpool appear to also be in for a striker, with strong and persistent links to both Aleksander Isak and Hugo Ekitike.

With the current dearth of top-class strikers in world football at the moment, any striker will command a sizeable fee, and Isak—who is probably the best and most proven striker currently on the market—will cost any club well over £100 million, at bare minimum. Indeed, Newcastle are rumored to want closer to £150 million for Isak.

One would think that Liverpool would look elsewhere with the fees mooted, especially after breaking the British transfer fee to bring in Wirtz, but apparently The Reds aren’t scared off so easily and are “keeping tabs” on the situation.

Newcastle have a sizeable wish list themselves, especially considering their return to Champions League football and their need to strengthen their squad. As such, Liverpool will reportedly bide their time in the hopes that they can test Newcastle’s resolve as the summer wears on.
