Legal luminary and former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, FCIArb(UK), has commended the NBA and the Benue State Government for organising the 2025 North-Central Security Summit.
Akangbe described the summit, themed “Strengthening Security, Rule of Law, and Justice Delivery in North-Central Nigeria,” as both timely and necessary, considering the persistent security threats facing the region, including farmer-herder clashes, banditry, communal violence, and mass displacement.
In a message of commendation, Akangbe said the summit provides “a critical space for legal minds and policymakers to advance practical, rights-based solutions that uphold the rule of law.”
He lauded the organisers for prioritising peace, security, and accountability at a time when the region is in dire need of strategic interventions.
“This summit offers a unique opportunity for impactful dialogue. I salute the NBA and the Benue State Government for their foresight and commitment. May your deliberations inspire bold, lasting interventions for our people,” he stated.
The Senior Advocate also expressed hope that the discussions at the summit would yield actionable outcomes that contribute meaningfully to restoring stability and justice across the North-Central zone.
