The family of Chief Adebayo Adelabu has expressed profound gratitude to God, security agencies, government officials, and Nigerians across the country following the safe rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were recently abducted.
In a statement released after the rescue, the family described the successful operation as a testament to the power of collective effort, unwavering commitment, and the effectiveness of security institutions when supported by citizens and government.
The family specifically appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his concern and commitment to the security and welfare of Nigerians. They also thanked the Governor of Oyo State for his support and cooperation throughout the ordeal.
Special commendation was given to the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, the Oyo State Police Command, and the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State for their professionalism, diligence, and tireless efforts that led to the victims’ rescue.
The family also acknowledged the contributions of the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), as well as officers and personnel of the agency at both the national headquarters in Abuja and the Oyo State Directorate, whose intelligence-driven operations played a significant role in securing the victims’ freedom.
Further appreciation was extended to the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s Oyo State chapter, political associates, government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, friends, and family members for their prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support.
According to the statement, the overwhelming show of solidarity through visits, phone calls, messages, and prayers provided strength and hope to the family during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
While celebrating the safe return of the victims, the family expressed sympathy for other kidnapping victims and their families, praying for their safe release and reunion with loved ones.
The statement further emphasized that insecurity remains a national challenge that transcends political, ethnic, religious, and social differences, calling for greater cooperation among government institutions, security agencies, community leaders, and citizens in the fight against criminality.
The family concluded by urging Nigerians to remain united in supporting efforts aimed at protecting lives and property, while praying for the safety of security personnel and the continued peace, security, and prosperity of the nation.
