Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract.

The deal, which runs until June 2031, will be completed when the transfer window reopens, subject to regulatory approval. Financial details of the transfer were not disclosed.

Yohanna, who turns 19 later this month, joins Brighton after emerging as one of the brightest young talents in Sweden’s top flight. The winger impressed during his time with AIK, earning attention for his performances in both league and cup competitions.

Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed excitement about the arrival of the Nigerian youngster, describing him as a player capable of making a difference in attacking areas.

“I’m looking forward to working with Zadok,” Hurzeler said. “He’s a player who can influence games in the final third. While he is still young and will need time to adapt, he has qualities that make him an exciting prospect.”

The Brighton manager highlighted Yohanna’s pace, creativity and ability to take on defenders, noting that his attributes would strengthen the club’s attacking options.

Yohanna began his football journey at the Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before moving to Sweden in 2025 to join AIK.

Since arriving in Europe, he has quickly adapted to life in professional football, making 18 appearances for AIK this season across all competitions. During that period, he scored five goals and registered four assists.

The move marks another significant step in the young winger’s career as he prepares for the challenge of playing in the English Premier League.
