Nextier has congratulated its Founding Partner, Patrick O. Okigbo III, on his appointment to the Benue State Economic and Policy Advisory Council, describing the development as a recognition of his expertise in economic, strategic and financial advisory.
The council, established by the Benue State Government to provide strategic, independent and evidence-based policy advice, was inaugurated by Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia on July 29, 2026.
According to a statement by Nextier, the advisory body will support the state’s development agenda by providing guidance on economic planning, investment promotion, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, governance, public sector reforms and other priority sectors aimed at driving long-term prosperity.
During the inauguration, Governor Alia charged members of the council to deploy their expertise to strengthen evidence-based governance, improve strategic planning and accelerate sustainable economic growth across the state.
The governor described the appointments as a vote of confidence in the competence, experience and integrity of the members, urging them to provide practical, objective and forward-looking policy recommendations capable of creating jobs, attracting investments, boosting internally generated revenue, improving public service delivery and expanding economic opportunities for the people of Benue State.
He also stressed that the council’s work should be anchored on credible data, rigorous analysis, innovation, professionalism, integrity, patriotism and accountability.
The advisory council comprises professionals drawn from academia, public policy, finance, energy, development, law, technology and governance. Its members include Nick Agule, Carolyn Okoh Folami, Naomi Onyeje Doki, Patrick O. Okigbo III, Andrew Ayabam, Adukwu Emmanuel Ogbole, Fanen Ade, Alex Tarka, Jane Asagh, Basil Jev, Joseph Ogebe, Emmanuel Makeri, Michael Oglegba, Theresa Nyitse and Jerome Andohol.
Nextier noted that Okigbo brings nearly three decades of experience in economic, strategic and financial advisory across the public and private sectors. It said his expertise in investment strategy, project structuring, governance and policy implementation would contribute to attracting investment, strengthening governance frameworks and accelerating sustainable economic growth in Benue State.
The organisation also congratulated all members of the advisory council and commended Governor Alia for establishing the body as part of efforts to institutionalise evidence-based policymaking and promote inclusive, sustainable development in the state.
