The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, (CONYL), has endorsed Chief Barry Balera Mwara as its preferred candidate for the Rivers South East Senatorial District ahead of the upcoming election.

In a press release issued by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, CONYL, described as the umbrella body of youth groups across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, said Mwara, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, is the “most credible, competent, and visionary” aspirant for the seat.

The group said it arrived at the decision after a “thorough assessment of the candidates and the prevailing needs of the people of Rivers South East.”

According to CONYL, Mwara has demonstrated “exceptional leadership capacity, unwavering commitment to grassroots development, and a genuine passion for public service.”

The coalition highlighted Mwara’s track record on youth welfare, accessibility, and “people-oriented leadership,” arguing that he possesses the experience and courage needed “to effectively articulate and defend the interests of Rivers South East at the National Assembly.”

“Chief Barry has shown beyond every reasonable doubt that his ambition is driven not by personal gain but by a sincere desire to render selfless service,” the statement read. CONYL added that his vision aligns with the aspirations of youth, women, traditional institutions, professionals, and other stakeholders seeking “purposeful representation and sustainable development.”

The group called on eligible voters in the Rivers South East Senatorial District to “rally behind Chief Barry Balera Mwara,” and urged other political actors to “place the collective interest of the district above partisan considerations.”
