The Forum of State Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged party members and supporters that are yet to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to do so immediately.
Chairman of the forum and Lagos State chapter boss, Cornelius Ojelabi, made the appeal, while briefing newsmen after the forum’s inaugural meeting in Abuja yesterday.
While urging them to take advantage of the remaining 28 days of the final phase of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, the forum wondered how a member or supporter could claim to love the party without having a PVC.
The forum argued that the only way to prove their love for the party and by extension President Bola Tinubu, is to obtain their PVCs to vote for the re-election of APC as the ruling party.
Promising to use every available instrument to encourage those yet to obtain their PVCs to do so, Ojelabi said: “The forum encourages all members of our great party, the APC, and indeed Nigerians, who are yet to obtain their PVCs, to take advantage of the remaining 28 days of the ongoing CVR exercise, which is the final phase.
“No matter how much love you have for the APC, no matter how much you support President Tinubu and no matter how much you appreciate what governors are doing in your states, without a PVC, you cannot exercise your right to vote.
“We, therefore, collectively resolve to use every available means to encourage those yet to obtain their PVCs to go out and do so,” the forum’s chairman assured.
He equally pledged to continue working assiduously to promote the growth of the party, claiming, “Today, the APC is a party with 32 governors out of 36 states and still counting.
“We are moving from strength to strength, and our membership in the National Assembly continues to grow, a clear indication that it is widely accepted by Nigerians.”
Disclosing other resolutions taken during the meeting, Ojelabi said: “After extensive deliberations on party affairs and national issues, the forum resolved to congratulate President Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of our great party for the 2027 general elections.
“To sympathise with the families and victims of insecurity across the nation and commend the efforts of President Tinubu. We commend the National Chairman and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party for the successful and peaceful conduct of the primaries.
“The forum also congratulated all candidates who emerged across the 36 states and the FCT. We take this opportunity to congratulate all our governorship candidates, members of the National Assembly and members of the State Houses of Assembly across the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The forum identified with the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) for its continued support for Mr President and our great party, the APC,” Ojelabi said.
