RIVCHPP Executive Secretary Charges Service Providers on Governor’s Health Mandate
The Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala, has urged healthcare service providers under the scheme to work collaboratively with the agency to ensure the successful implementation of the state government’s health mandate. Dr. Agala made this passionate call during a strategic meeting with accredited healthcare providers at her office in Port Harcourt.
Addressing the representatives of various healthcare facilities, Dr. Agala emphasized that the primary goal of RIVCHPP is to make qualitative and affordable healthcare accessible to all residents of Rivers State, particularly the vulnerable. She noted that achieving this vision relies heavily on the dedication, professionalism, and integrity of the service providers.
“The Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is deeply committed to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for every resident of our state,” Dr. Agala stated. “As our partners, you play a pivotal role in translating this vision into reality. We expect nothing less than the highest standard of care, empathy, and professionalism when attending to our enrollees.”
She further warned against any form of compromise in service delivery, noting that RIVCHPP would not tolerate poor treatment of enrollees or non-compliance with established guidelines. Dr. Agala stressed that regular monitoring and evaluation exercises would be conducted across all participating facilities to ensure strict adherence to the scheme’s standard operating procedures.
The Executive Secretary also assured the service providers of RIVCHPP’s commitment to prompt payment of capitations and claims, adding that mutual cooperation is essential to sustaining the health insurance ecosystem. By ensuring seamless billing, robust feedback mechanisms, and prompt resolution of issues, both the agency and the providers can build a robust health system that serves as a model for the nation.
In response, the representatives of the healthcare facilities commended Dr. Agala and her team for their proactive leadership. They pledged their unalloyed support to the programme, promising to deliver top-notch medical services that align with the state’s healthcare goals.
Ultimately, the collaboration between RIVCHPP and its network of healthcare providers marks a significant step forward in Rivers State’s journey toward universal health coverage, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent anyone from accessing life-saving medical care.
