The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) in the UK has cleared Olufunmilayo Ogunsanya, a Nigerian doctor and well-known Twitter influencer, of the accusations of sexual misconduct and emotional abuse levelled against him.
In June 2020, Bolanle Aseyan, a medical doctor and former girlfriend of Ogunsanya, accused him of inappropriate conduct and emotional abuse.

Aseyan claimed that on March 7, 2020, Ogunsanya acted inappropriately towards her by pressuring her to drink alcohol and then acting sexually motivated towards her, and that on March 15, 2020, Ogunsanya acted emotionally abusively towards her. She also accused him of stabbing her in the left hand with a fork on June 28, 2020.

She filed charges with both the Nigerian and UK police, as well as the UK General Medical Council (GMC).
All bodies deemed the claims lacking in evidence and determined that Ogunsanya did not perpetuate any misconduct.

In a July 19 ruling, the MPTS, having ascertained that proof for all the allegations made against Ogunsanya did not suffice, wrote, “As the facts have not been found to be proved, it therefore follows that Dr. Ogunsanya’s practise is not impaired.”

Recall that Aseyan was also arraigned twice in September 2020 and March 2021 following a countersuit filed against her by Ogunsanya on a five-count charge bordering on false accusation, criminal defamation of character and offensive publication likely to cause a breach of peace.
